Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2020 was the third online computer based exam conducted by XLRI for admission to more than 150 MBA/PGDM colleges on January 5, 2020 with many changes.

XAT 2020 Result: Highlights

XLRI Shortlisting & Cut Off Percentile
Soon after releasing XAT Results, XLRI announces its shortlist for Admission 2020. Besides, XAT cut offs for different XLRI PGDM programmes are also announced and individual messages to shortlisted candidates are sent by XLRI.

XLRI shortlisting criteria is based on sectional as well as overall XAT exam percentile score that you have obtained in Verbal & Reasoning, Decision Making, and Quantitative and Data Interpretation sections. The final selection round at XLRI will consist of GD-PI-WAT and will begin in February 2020.

Top B-Schools Accepting XAT 2020: Cut Offs
Both XLRI Jamshedpur and SPJIMR Mumbai release shortlist of the candidates based on the XAT 2020 scores. The shortlisting process is based on overall as well as the sectional percentile scores. While SPJIMR Mumbai has announced a minimum 75 sectional and 85 overall percentile for shortlisting, actual cut off goes much higher.

XAT Score Vs Percentile: No candidate with 100 percentile
XLRI has not awarded full 100 percentile in XAT 2020 even to the highest scorer in the exam! The score is ranked at 99.9 percentile. Confirming this trend to MBAUniverse.com, XAT official said “Our percentile calculation is slightly different, and the topper does not score hundred percentile.”

Also, XAT 2020 result does not have candidates with negative percentile. According to XAT official “All students get positive percentiles (There is no possibility of negative percentile)”.  It means that no candidate can get negative scores as per the score normalization process adopted in XAT 2020.

XLRI Delhi Campus to admit students with XAT 2020
XLRI Jamshedpur has launched its second campus in Delhi NCR at Jhajjar from the academic session 2020-21. For academic year 2020-22, intake is 120 students divided in two sections.XLRI’s new campus in Delhi NCR will have the same Pedagogy and Curriculum as XLRI, Jamshedpur and the faculty from the main campus will also be taking classes at the new campus. After declaration of XAT 2020 result, XLRI short list of candidates also includes the shortlist for admission to XLRIDelhi campus.

On January 15, 2020 MBAUniverse.com had learnt that XLRI was planning to release XAT Results very soon, instead of official release date of January 31. However, the candidates were cautioned that XAT 2020 Results would NOT be released on January 15 as some media and education portals had reported.

XLRI Spokesperson had also confirmed likely date for release of XAT Results to MBAUniverse.com. Responding to MBAUniverse.com query on XAT Result Date, XLRI Spokesperson emphatically told us on 15.1.2020, “XAT 2020 Results will NOT be released today.” Some media and education portals had reported that XAT results would be released on January 15, which led to commotion within MBA Aspirants.

XLRI was in final stages of preparing XAT 2020 Results on that day. XLRI Spokesperson told us on 15.1.2020, “XAT 2020 Results will released within 3-5 days.”So, we predicted the XAT 2020 Result to be released on this date.

Candidates were advised to keep calm and focus on researching how to best use the XAT 2020 scores, rather than keep wasting time on checking scores again and again or reading inaccurate media reports.
