Frequently asked questions

Is this PDF editor free to use?

Yes. Core tools like merge, split, compress, rotate, edit and annotate are free. AI tools, OCR, PDF to Word and Smart Redact (India PII) require a Premium plan.

Are my PDF files stored permanently?

No. Guest uploads are stored only for your working session and are automatically deleted after about 1 hour(s). You can also click Delete file in the editor to remove them immediately. Download your result before the session expires.

Do you use my documents to train AI?

No. Uploaded documents are not used to train public AI models. Premium AI tools may send extracted text to a provider only to generate your result, then discard it per that provider's retention rules.

Can I redact Aadhaar and PAN from PDFs?

Yes. Smart Redact detects India PII (Aadhaar, PAN, mobile, email, IFSC, passport, cards) plus US SSN, IBAN and UK NINo. Review findings, choose what to redact, then download.

Does it work on mobile phones?

Yes. The platform is optimized for mobile browsers with an app-like interface. Scan documents with your camera and use PDF tools on the go.

Can I convert PDF to Word online?

Premium users can convert PDF to editable Word (DOCX) on our servers. Upload your PDF and download the DOCX file.
